Drag and drop effects templates not dropping in MX Production Studio.

Hi,

I'm having trouble dropping effects templates onto objects in MM MX Production Studio. The effect picks up okay and drags but when I drop I get a message telling me to drop the effect onto an object.

I am running Windows 7 on an Advent laptop with 4gb RAM and have repaired the program from disc. It's probably me. Can anyone help?

Hi

Are you dropping the effect on to a sound object on the timeline such as those seen in this image or into a blank space?

Certain objects may not be able to have a particular effect applied to it.

Thanks John, I was trying to add an effect to a midi object and you were right i just not possible. 

Grateful for your help though.
