Hi

What make/ type of discs are you using- the program cannot detect the disc in the drive.

If a disc is ppesent in the drrive, the most often the cause is a bad disc which can often occur when using unbranded or economy discs or the wrong type of disc eg a CD instead of a DVD disc.

Hello, I have the same error message, but its not every time I render and burn a DVD. It started out being annoying but after a restart it would burn straight away. However its got to the stage of doing the error each time now, regardless of rendering, then restarting or not. I also noticed my drive wouldnt copy a blu-ray disc so thought it was the drive packed up. But after changing the drive, it copies blu-rays fine but still wont render and burn a DVD in MEP. What are the base settings for the encoder options? Im wondering if Ive changed something by mistake. The blank DVDs Im using work fine in the drive as Ive done some tests on the same PC with same drive and same discs but in Pinnacle studio and that renders and burns fine.

Any ideas would be great as its my work!

Nick

Hi

. . . . still wont render and burn a DVD in MEP . . . .

Your issue may not be from the same cause as the OP of this topic.

From the error log, can you post the information from the last burn attempt only - it will be at the end of the log and start with the date and time.

The error log file should be located here:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Program version\dbk.log

Hi John.

Version 16.0.4.98 here also but I don't see the problem that the OP had or that you are apparently now having; IOW disc image at least created without a problem.

However, what I do see is the problem reported in this thread https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/update-15-0-4-164-udc2-loss-of-function--1190693/ now afflicts MEP Premium! I'm just running a test burn with VPX to discover whether it is still present there!

Jeff

EDIT: Yes, it's still there in VPX (latest version). The only method to be able to clear that screen once burning is complete is to use Task manager to force close the program, not ideal!

Hi Jeff

I too am also seeing the hanging problem with the burn complete dialog as well. It looks like this bug has come back, it was fixed in MEP 2016.

I have isolated the problem with Error: Call to CheckHDAndDiscSpaceForProject() failed to the project I was working on for this topic.

If I create the same project from scratch in MEP 2016 there is no issue, however if I load the multi page menu project created in MEP Premium into MEP 2016 it too gives the error message.

Hi

I have received a response from Magix support re the MEP hanging issue - it appears the same bug has entered in to VPX and Photostory, and they are working on a fix for the next patches.
