Editing problem in Sound Forge 17

For some reason I can no longer just highlight a portion of an audio file in SF 17 and use the "SAVE AS" command to save that portion of the file to my desktop. Every time I do it, SF 17 saves the complete file instead of the portion I selected. I've used Sound Forge for a few years and this problem has only happened recently. I'm using Windows 11 on a Dell Core i7 laptop. Any info or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @Anthony-Costine. do you have Sound Forge 17 Pro or Audio Studio?
Are you in the 'Normal' or the 'Event' edit mode?
Do you select 'Trim/Crop' after selecting a region, then 'Save as'?.
Off hand, I do not recall a setting for that without using trim/crop first.

Hi rraud, thank you for your reply. I'm using Sound Forge Pro, not Studio. So I went back and used the "Trim/Crop" command and can save the selection that way. So I'll keep that way of doing it in future. I must admit I still haven't studied Sound Forge in detail. I just tend to do stuff with it intuitively.
