Entering Size and Position parameters in MEP Premium 2018

hdrechsel18 wrote on 5/6/2018, 7:11 AM

Why can't I enter size and/or position numbers in this function? I can use the little arrows to change the parameters, but in previous versions I was always able to enter numbers if I wanted my overlays, etc to be a particular size in my video. Is there something I'm missing in the setup? Thanks in advance.

Hi Harry,

I presume that you have finally upgraded to the latest version. I have Plus 17.0.2.171 and I have no problem entering numbers into the boxes and even dragging with the mouse after clicking in one of the boxes to change the size/position parameters.

Do you have the latest patch?

Yes - that's the same version I have. I just updated a week ago - after years of using MEP 2015 (which I loved, but it started crashing on me) - and I'm not altogether PC friendly, so working out the kinks (and how to do what I was comfortable with) in the new version is taking some time. Working with it again this morning; still not reacting to my entering numbers in the boxes. Seems like I can drag the mouse, but that's not helping much. I used to be able to enter the number, click outside the box, and the new dimension would take effect. Odd...but not a show stopper. I've updated...is that what you mean by "latest patch"? Thanks

Yes, the latest patch is 17.0.2.171.

Strange, it should work. Are you able to highlight the numbers in the box? And the without moving the cursor out of the box, type in some numbers? And then Enter?

You may want to try the boxes in some other effects as well to see if this is a general problem or just specific to Size/Position.

Duh....okay...I can highlight the number, type in my new number, and hit ENTER...and it changes. Didn't have to do this with 2015 - just click outside the box and the numbers changed. Sorry for the panic attack (lol), like I said...little things here & there that are different (re-learning curve)...I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug (or something I'm missing). Thanks for your help.

Hi

. . . . I can highlight the number, type in my new number, and hit ENTER...and it changes . . . .

The change to this feature was introduced with MEP 2017, another change is you cannot tab between the input boxes.

Thank you. I'm sure I'll find more changes/improvements as I move along. Been using it for a week now, and overall, I'm happy with MEP 2018's performance. Just gotta get in the groove.
