Error code: -24

Hello and good morning, 

I get the following error message when I attempt to load a video,  "This serial number has already been registered to another email address. Please contact MAGIX support. , Error Code: -24"

Following your softwares' instructions, I go to your website url...

I then click on Contact Support > New Request 

And get the following message which states, 

"Contact Support - You don't have products registered. Maybe you forgot to register your product at MAGIX?" Just below the message, there is a button which reads, "NEXT" However, it is blocked and doesn't allow me to proceed to the next screen. 

Sitting here looking at my desktop, I have Vegas Pro, Corel VideoStudio, PowerDirector and all installed without any problems. I review your site and see that you guys don't even respond to questions on weekends. 

Is this a joke? Seriously, I am disappointed in the software and getting support after purchasing your product is simply non-existant. What do I do at this point? File complaints with the BBB in hopes that you get a F- ( Cpnsidering that your company already has a F rating.  Ref: go.bbb.org/1fMpWIG ) , Ripoff Report, iRipoff, Bad Business sites on the internet in hopes that someone out there will do something to assist me? 

Or, should I continue making viral videos which I do and have done over the past several years informing people about your product? 

Obviosuly, I could do several things but hopefully your company will stand behind the product and do the right thing by looking up my email address and the serial that I used when I tried to install the software an hour or two ago and assist me by getting the software up and running within the next 24 hours. 

I would post  the serial number here but considering this is a forum, I will decline any request to post identifiable information, etc. 

I would contact your support but again, I am stopped at 33% with a non-functional Next button!!  Hopefully, you will fix the error that I am having on your end so in say 24 hours, If I try and do the initial registration, It will work without error. If not, I'll skip your software and stay with the software that I am use too and start sharing my experience with your company online to the millions of people whom like myself thought about purchasing the software but wasn't sure.

Second - ranting and raving is not going to get you anywhere fast

No but you must be having one .

You should be doing several things - it is your responsibility to register the software and remember what details you used when setting up the account and keep a copy of your serial number.

If you have forgotten / lost these details in less than 24 hours from installation / registration or are entering the wrong details, there only one person to blame, and it is not Magix or any other users on this forum.

Based on the few details within the bulk of your post I would suspect that you are getting the registration dialog for activation of a codec, if it is and is asking for an email address then you must use the original email address the software was registered with.

Like most countries, we in Europe do have business hours which are normally Monday to Friday, times may vary depending on the business and time zone and are clearly stated on the Magix website.

Threats, making demands and not being polite (see forum rules here) will not get you any results, most users here do not take kindly to such things.

Keep your post to the relevant facts and provide essential detail, cut out any rants and raves etc.

John, I am having the exact same problem and can find no solution on any of the various support websites to resolve it. The ranting and raving is because the MAGIX company has provided no real way to address this problem, so we resort to venting on the Forum to get the attention of the Company. That also assumes the Company cares enough to pay attention to systemic problems such as this.

I registered my product according to the rules and it worked ONCE. Since then, I am in the same loop with the error code and no viable way to fix it.

Please read this topic and then start a new topic and include information on your computer specification and program version number, details of what are required are in the linked to topic, and any other information you may think is relevant eg what change on your computer between working and non working.

This topic will be closed as it refers to an old version of MEP.
