Error Saving

Peter-Post wrote on 8/6/2025, 4:42 PM

Just installed the latest version of ACID on a new PC. I have been a user for decades so I'm familiar. But among the weird things I'm noticing, I can't seem to save my projects. I have a combination of loops and live tracks and I can save the .acd files but when I checxk "copy all media with project" I get "error copying media to new directory". I have maunally set the default directory in Preferences -> Folders but it's not working. Anybody have amnything similar?

@Peter-Post

I don't have or use any version of ACID (sorry) so I may be completely wrong about this, but...

Assuming you are running Win 11 on the new computer and, depending on where you have selected to store those files, check your settings for Protected Folders.

Thanks Jeff, unfortunately, that's not it. I have all that turned off. I'm going to ask for tech support from MAGIX - appreciate thr try, though

@Peter-Post Which folders are you using? Aside from the Documents folder and external hard drives Windows usually has pretty tight security. So, moving or writing files in the Program Files folder will be problematic.

I started by using the default when I installed ACID and when that didn't work, I chose my project folder on my local drive. Neither worked. Straight into my documents folder or a sub folder doesn't work either

@Peter-Post So, your loops and live tracks are also stored in a similar directory? Does it help if you run Acid as Administrator? To do this, right click on the Desktop icon or program icon and select the option in the right click menu.

Hi

Is your 'local folder' connected to OneDrive ?

If so you need to disconnect from OneDrive and ensure that the folders locations fo saving you projects etc are within the local Documents folder, they should not be in any other locations, such as the Desktop, which is a protected folder along with many other folders that are not in your Documents folder.
