Export Problems

Here's a short example of footage straight from the GoPro.

Embedding a video here is not the same as uploading it in exactly original state to a hosting site, from which we can download it as I suggested.

Terry, East Grinstead, UK. PC: i7 6700K, 4.0 GHz, 32GB with Win 10 pro. Used many earlier versions of MEPP, currently mainly MEPP 2016 & 2017 (Using scores of macro scripts to add functionality, tailored to these versions.)

Oh, I see. I didn't realize that. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm starting to think my version of MEP isn't installed correctly. Is there a way to determine if I'm still running the trial version, even though I paid for the premium and downloaded content?

I resolved the issue by doing something I apparently should have done right from the start - downloaded the MPEG-4 codec! Nobody, not even tech support mentioned I needed to do this. I was under the assumption MEP had this included as part of the package. I guess not. Lesson learned.

Hi, I'm glad the issue is now sorted for you.

I think the reason no-one asked you to check about that mp4 codec is because, in my experience, the message "inviting" you to download and install it appears automatically the first time you ever select an mp4 export! I wonder why it didn't for you? Another Magix mystery!

Hi @bryan-mcfarland

I am afraid I don't understand your last comment because you previously said you exported to MPEG4 and were not happy with the quality.

Also:-

I exported using the AVCHD and although it wasn't as bad as the other exports, it's still pixilated compared to Motion JPEG AVI.

AVCHD is MPEG4 H264 and you would not have been able to do any export that uses MPEG4 compression without the codec! I do not think you can even play the timeline with MP4 on it without the Intel codec installed, neither would the encoder settings in your screen shots appear as Jeff has alluded to.

Maybe you mean you downloaded the optional Mainconcept MPEG4 codec whose export template had a higher bitrate as the default, and this improved the quality?

Everything on my MEP control panel showed that I already had MPEG 4. It exported to a very poor quality MP4 movie and not sure how. My system also did not invite me to download MP4 codec, so I don't know what happened there. I discovered that my MEP still hadn't downloaded the codec, or at least that's what I suspected. Once I did, everything was fine. - I'm still confused about the glitch, but it's working now.

Hi

Good to see you are getting a good result.

I would be interested for future reference to see the Media Info analysis of the final export of the 2.7K file that you were happy with.
