Exporting to Facebook

Helen-White wrote on 10/19/2020, 10:32 AM

I am trying to export videos to Facebook. When I choose MPG4 it's not recognised when I am trying to upload it to FB and it's showing in my folder as an M2TS4File. There are a lot of other options, in the dropdown such as AVi - which one is the appropriate to choose? Or does this program not allow exporting to Facebook?

Hope someone can help me. I can't upload my videos directly to FB from the phone as I film from above and then the videos go sideways - which is why I rotate them in Magix and then want to export them.

Thanks for reading.

@Helen-White

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . When I choose MPG4 it's not recognised when I am trying to upload it to FB and it's showing in my folder as an M2TS4File . . .

If you are getting a .m2ts file then the wrong export format has been chosen - the option used is creating an AVCHD file.

The export option you need is labelled MP4 .... as shown below.

To see all the options check the Display all option shown on the left below the preset drop down selector.

Note:

  • the above image is from Movie Edit Pro 2021, older versions may not have all the export options.
  • you will not have the top blurred out items - these are my custom export presets.
  • AFAIK, Facebook has an upload limit of 4GB

Thank you for your fast response. I am not sure if I have the 2021 version as I have recently had to uninstall and deinstall the program - though it looks like a newer version - but then it would have prompted me to pay for the renewal. I will see if I can find this solution next time I open the program. In the meantime I have figured out that if I click on the download button on the top right hand corner it lets me select HD quality and MP4 -and that works. Which is good to know. I normally make videos for YouTube which are longer and more polished. These ones are shorts just for FB.
