Few questions on older versions of MAGIX Music Maker Generation

  1. I have MAGIX Music Maker Generation 6 and I'm curious as to whether or not the loops are royalty free now?
  2. If I use royalty free loops with the program can I distribute them?
  3. Am I allowed to post videos with songs I've made on YouTube with these old loops (the ones that came with generation 6)

I assume you mean MAGIX Music Maker 6.  I've never heard of "Generation 6".

You, like so many others, are asking the wrong question.  ALL MAGIX media is "royalty free".  MAGIX does not collect royalties as it would be impossible to do.  What they do is to require the purchase of a commercial LICENSE to permit the use of media in public or for commercial purposes.

HOWEVER, they did NOT require the purchase of an additional commercial license until 2011 with the release of Music Maker 17.  So, anything released previous to MM-17 is bound only by its original license, which may have limits (such as no use to promote a commercial enterprise), but is otherwise unrestricted.  You would have to read the original agreement that came with the software to know exactly what restrictions there may be.

Just upgrade for crissakes and then you can join us all in a class actaion suit...the People vs. Magix.  I keep suggesting to Magix to raise the price on everything $10.....get $10 from everyone and forget athe litigation issues.  They'll make more money and all atheir customers will be happy.....so far its fallen on deaf ears.  But I keep trying.  Good luck.  What Vst stuff came with MM6 anyway ?
