Freezes on VPX13

Because I was getting intermittent freezes (had to close via task manager and even rebooted) I just UNinstalled X13 .121, downloaded the program again from Magix and reinstalled. The installation from the download was .119. I am very reluctant to install the .121 update again. Has any one else had this problem? Spent a lot of time troubleshooting to get productive again.

@bvolbeda

A number of users, me included, had been experiencing the problem of VPX 13 failing to close properly and so requiring Task Manager to force its closure. I'm not sure whether this is the problem for you?

If so, the 129 patch release has resolved it for me and, I believe, for others who have posted here about it.

Hi

. . . . Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz   3.50 GHz . . . .

VPX 13 has more demanding hardware requirements then your previous version of VPX and may have tipped the conditions enough to start causing the issues you are having.

Additionally, if the Intel HD4600 drivers have been updated to the latest version from Intel, the VPX 13 will have lost use of the HD4600 integrated GPU for hardware acceleration, putting the entire processing onto the CPU this could cause a crash.

See this article from Intel to revert to a previous version though this will have a security risk and you do so at your own risk.

I finished 2 projects yesterday with the re-install to 19.0.1.119. So I know my hardware is working. I saw frequent lock ups with these same 2 projects using 19.0.1.121. It seems I either may have had a corrupted file or there is something in the .121 (129?) version (patch) that is causing the freeze.
