I started up MEP a few days ago and noticed that all my links in the media pool had gone. I wasn't too happy about that.

I then started up a project (my slideshow) and found that the effects I had applied to some images (the blurred, darkened effect on the expanded background image) had been reset. When I tried to re-apply the effects via a saved IFX file, I got no response. No effect was applied. I then tried to manually lower the brightness and add a blur; again, no response, even on a new project with a new image. When I went through the process of applying an effect, the name of the effect appears on the object on the timeline as normal, it's just that the effect isn't actually applied.

It appears that something serious had occurred to my installation and that least some functions just don't work. I've tried the backups back as far as I can (I think to before the time I found my media pool links disappeared) but each backup is the same. It appears that the program is not applying some effects to objects that it should do.

I don't recall any specific event (eg Windows Update) that could have been responsible for MEP's wobbly.

In desperation, I did a program reset and thankfully, the effects are now working, but I don't have my links.

Is the links data available somewhere, perhaps in an INI file I can copy and paste into the current INI? I really don't want to set each one up again. I have daily system backups that cover the period that MEP had the wobbly.
