Hi William.

If the buzzing noise happens when you play the files in Windows Media Player or Windows Film and TV, then the problem is with the Go-Pro Hero 6 and not Movie Edit Pro. That would point to the Go-Pros Analogue to Digital Convertor sound chip breaking down.

If the sound is not in the normal playback within Windows we need a ten to fifteen second clip we can download and test please.

Thanks Ray. I actually haven't really used the clips in windows. I was referring to listening to the video clips on the movie edit timeline in my magix software. I realize that the issue I am having quite possibly is related to the gopro. So I apologize if I sounded like I was disipointed in the Magix softwar. Its been really awesome to use! I have two different clips for you. One is the raw magix file and the other is a exported file. Thanks!

Hi William.

It makes no difference to me or other contributors here what your thoughts on the software is as it can never be completely ruled out until tested. So no need to apologise.

You should always test suspect clips in a video player first if you think there is anything wrong as that can eliminate problems early.

Always interested in clips if you want us to give an opinion or second independent check over.

Speaking of which, any links to the two you mention?

Hi William.

That file is not directly from the Go-Pro. It has been re-rendered. Was that the output from MEP?

It's not what we need, sorry. We need either for a clip to be put into an open drop box account or similar for download.

From what I can hear though it sounds like the Digital to Audio Convertor has gone in your Go-Pro. It's a similar sound to other examples I've heard in the past on such user sites. It may not be though, unless you are hearing that in a Windows media player or something like VLC player, then it definitely is a knackered DAC and you need a new sound board in the Go-Pro.

So I just tested the video clip in windows media player and others. And it sounded just fine. But after further study it sounds like the Hero 6 codec is different than the Hero 5 and for some reason doesn't jive with this softwar unless i maybe make an adjustment or something. Wich is weird because thei magix softwar says it supports all kinds of files and codecs, but i'll check into it more. Thanks for everything! I appreciate it!

Hi William.

In that case if you could look for and download a small free program called MediaInfo off of the net and use it to get the full data from one of the offending clips and post the text view results here we may be able to tell you what the problem is and possible workarounds. Once MediaInfo is loaded onto a computer, whenever you right click a video file you will see MediaInfo come up in the resulting drop-down list.Clicking on that will make MediaInfo read the files' data.

The result should look like this.

As you can see there is a lot of data we can interpret to see what the problem could be. Normally though this does not affect audio but the video portion of the file so your problem at present seems unique in my experience.

I would still like to see a complete original file though to download and analyse. That would be more useful. Uploading to a site that allows files to be played back does not work. It has to be a direct download link.

The file you presented was not direct from the camera as the frame rate reported was incorrect for a camera file.

[Edit]

Newer Go Pro models have started using variable frame rate encoding that is giving Movie Edit Pro problems with decoding but as I said earlier, this has normally effected the video portion of a file rather than the audio.

Hi Ray

. . . . using variable frame rate encoding that is giving Movie Edit Pro problems with decoding but as I said earlier, this has normally effected the video portion of a file rather than the audio . . . .

Depending on the encoding format the audio can be out of sync to the video when imported in to any NLE which does not handle variable frame rate video correctly with respect to the audio.

In this case the buzzing could be the side effect of trying to keep the audio in sync.

@William-Hundley

I agree with Ray - we need either a sample of GoPro video or a MediaInfo Analysis of one that 'buzzes' in MEP.

I want to thank both you guys for your technical advice! I downloaded XMedia Recode and converted my audio codec from Fraunhofer FDK AAC to AAC and that seems to work. It didn't convert the video i had produced in magix. But I can convert the files before i use them in magix so magix can use them! Thanks guys again! You're awesome!!! 😃👍
