HELP please - MEP 2019 unuseable after update to 18.0.1.213

Hi, I purchased MEP 2019 about a month ago - I love it!!!

BUT - updated to 18.0.1.213 yesterday. Since then, it has acted strangely and often catastrophically - hanging for no reason, with odd message boxes including THIS (which did not go away when I clicked the cross):

Help please (urgent if possible)!! I am working on an important project (for me ). Is there a way of reverting back to my previous version?

Any assistance would be gratefully received. Thank you.

When you try to take a screenshot of MEP, that is the info box that pops up. If you want to then open the screenshot in say Paint then keep the preset Use Clipboard and press OK then the box will disappear (or should do). Then you can go to Paint and paste the image to save to a given directory folder.

But yes, I'm getting strange behaviour as well. The program freezes in use and the mouse refuses to work within the editor but works fine outside of it. I have to use the Task Manager to close it so I can try again.

Thank you, CubeAce. But I never tried to take a screenshot! The message popped up out of the blue. Then MEP just hung. I had to use Ctrl/Alt/Del (Task Manager) to shut it down. On re-opening I lost everything in the timeline. This is serious stuff - MEP is now unuseable. I would like to get my previous version back - I would be grateful for any help with this. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. J

... so apologies for starting a new one inadvertently. Someone suggested setting "program settings to defaults" which I will try. I'll comment on the other thread. Thanks.

Hi, I just rectified it (I think, early days, but it seems to be working fine now though) by going to "File >settings>Reset program files to defaults" as suggested on the other thread (see above post). I had to re-download and reinstall all extra content, though. But I'm happy it's back to normal.

Thank you CubeAce for your reply, and your help re: the screenshot feature (which I hadn't discovered yet). I hope you sort out your problem too.
