ebros,

First check what your setup is on the 'Master' mixing deck, [M] key shortcut. There is a 5.1 Surround button which if depressed changes the L/R pan knobs for each track to little surround editor windows with red and blue dots. You should get a warning if your computer is not set up for surround speakers. The Help file has a reasonable explanation of how to use the editor.

At the other end of your workflow, make sure you have gone into the 'Advanced' windows for any export or burning options. Not all formats support 5.1 surround and, even if they do, it is not necessarily set by default.

Been some time since I've imported any 5.1, but I think if your system is all set up for it, the import window will offer the option of separating the audio channels. If not then check if there is a right click menu on the audio track to do the job. There is one for splitting a stereo into two mono tracks.

I've been having lots of fun experimenting with surround in MEP17+ which I play through a WD HD media player, not having any BluRay stuff.

Regards,

Carl
