How can I have use of my sound card for other progs (WMP for example) when MM2013 Premium is open

ericjar wrote on 10/26/2012, 1:31 PM

I was hoping to use Music Maker 2013 in conjunction with movie Edit Pro to create soundtracks for video, and I am able to do this but it sure would be nice if I could get other things including Windows Media Player to be able to play sound while MM is open, but they won't.

Is there something I can do to make this work?

Thanks,

Eric

You asked

"but it sure would be nice if I could get other things including Windows Media Player to be able to play sound while MM is open, but they won't."

Thank you for asking a good question it gave me an idea.

After reading your question, first I played an audio in WMP then opened Music Maker 16 Premium and played different instruments. By Playing two players at once produced interesting audio.

For the driver setting though it is from MMM 16 Premium you can get an idea by looking at screen shot.

I use external audio interface as a soundcard. I don't think any special settings is needed for what you are up to.  But it might depend on the sound card of your computer. If you know the name you better add in your question.

For more details about sound card you can read and see images in the PDF tutorial.

Note my default audio player is WMP.

I got oit to work changing from ASIO driver to Direct Sound... always scares me playing with some of those settings but looks like it's working OK at least I can get sound from both MM and MEP :)

Thanks again
