What is the make and model of the camera and does it record to memory card, hard drive, mini DVD or tape?

What is your computer specification and does it have a Firewire (IEEE1369) card installed?

I have the AX2000 SONY AVCHD CAMARA.

It records to a memory card.Has no firewall

Plug the camera into the computer using the supplied USB cable, the camera will then appear as another drive in Windows Explorer - locate the video files and copy them to a folder on your computer.

The manual suggests using the Content Management Utility supplied with the camera for connecting to the computer ( page 81 ) - this should not be necessary unless you wish to take advantage of the management software for organising and copying the files from the camera.
