How can I stop an import to timeline

Hi,

If I drag an avi to the timeline then see it is not the one I want, how can I stop it loading because they take forever to load.

Pressing the Esc will ask you if you want to abort the loading, however you do have to be quick if the clips are relatively short eg less than 20 secs.
