Hi,
At first when I had the basic version of Magix and a simple Zoom Q2 video camera, I would always get a "could not connect to selected device" error message. I just figured the two were not compatible. But I now have Movie Edit Pro Premium and have a Sony AVCHD Handycam (HDR-CX405), but I still get the exact same error message.
If I select either of the HDV or DV camera options to record, I get the error message even BEFORE I'm able to use the window behind the error message that has the option to "select DV device driver".
But even more confusing is that when I click the AVCHD option (for the AVCHD camera I have), Magix does not see (or allow me to even select) the camera (that's already plugged into the computer, via an HDMI to USB adapter), and only gives me the option to select FILES already on the computer (and not even on the camera).
I'm a working musician, so I'm good on the audio side of technology, but here in video, I'm obviously not that knowledgeable. That being said though, I would think that if I have an AVCHD camera, selecting the AVCHD option to record video from it directly to Magix should make sense. But yet it doesn't work.
Any help would be sincerely very greatly appreciated!
