How do I add effects to objects in magix music maker that change over the life of the object, such as pan?

I'd like to do some 'panning' during playback of an object, or other effects for that matter.

How do I do this?

I'm using Magix Music Maker Rock Edition 3

Effects (menu) > Automation > Object Automation (CTRL+H) -OR- Track Automation (CTRL+J)
