How do I apply an FX plugin to an entire object group?

I can't figure out how to apply an fx plugin like flanger or chorus to an entire object group.  When I double click on the object group and pick flanger for example, the effect gets applied to the first object in the group, but not the rest.  I can get effects from the FX-rack to apply to an entire group, but not the plugins.  What should I do to get a plugin applied to an entire object group?

Also, is there a way to combine objects into a single object (not a bunch of objects in a group but a new object entirely)?

you can apply FX plugins to the entire track from the mixer. open the mixer(M on the keyboard) and on the track there are two pull down lists near the top. pull down a list and  hover over magix plugins and choose your FX. it will be applied to the whole track. just tweek for the sound you want. you can add another one with the second pull down list.

My name is Michael. I like a lot of styles of music. Played with different types of bands. But its the music in the soul that I value most. I'm not a great guitar player but I try to create a good sound that would take you on a short ride away. You can come back when you are ready. Thank you for listening. And call me Mike.
