How do I set the audio level

When I go to record a movie from a VHS it shows; Warning: The audio level is too low (Maximum level -20 dB. The meters show L > -53 dB; R > -45 dB. I can't find any place to change these levels. I'm using Magix Edit Pro 16 wit a USB capture device. Windows Vista operating system. I was using Magix Edit Pro 12; same capture device and operating system before I purchased MP 16 and had no such problem.

Hi

The problem is with Windows not MEP.

Go into Control Panel, Sound and select the Recording tab  right click your device and select Properties.  You should then find level settings which you can adjust.
