How do you adjust audio to match video

I am at my wits end.  I have the DVD "The Perfect Business" by Robert Kiyosaki and I want to add it to my video that I am Making.  I have converted it to MPEG4, and WAV to be only fustrated that when it is added to the storyline the Audio does not match the Video.  I don't know how to fix it.  I need help! And I am Using Movie Edit Pro 2014...

First, I must ask, do you have the copyright holder's permission to use what is, I presume, a "commercial" DVD in your project?  You may only intend to keep your finished project for "personal use" but you do need to be aware that even "personal use" in this way is, strictly, illegal.

Assuming you do have permission and your use is legal(!), I wonder why you chose to "convert" the DVD files, presumably in .vob format, to mp4?  .vob files are actually mpeg files and MEP can play them without any conversion, though you may need to change the file extension from .vob to .mpg.

Even in it's original format of VOB it is actually worse. It just seemed a little better when I converted it.  But still can't get it right.  I saw something about codecs.  I'm not sure what that is..  You think this might have something to do with it?

I am willing to try and change the file extension to see if that works.  Could you please tell me how to do that?
