"Fast Forward" as in simply needing to move quickly through clips on the timeline?  Or, "Fast Forward" as in wanting certain parts of your movie to be "speeded up" whilst playing back and once exported?

If it's the former, you can simply drag the cursor across the screen, or press the right arrow key+Ctrl for something like 5x scrubbing; right arrow key+Shift allows much faster scrubbing.

If it's the latter then I know of no alternative to cutting/highlighting the section you wish to speed up and applying the fastyer playback speed.

Hi

If you want to do this for the finished movie then you can use Keyframes with the Speed effect - an example of this effect applied is shown below with speed up, constant hi speed, slow down then speed up again..

To use Keyframing there are many tutorials on Youtube  - NOTE: if you want to go faster than x4 speed you will have to disconnect the audio and remove it .
