How do you save a group of Titles and Pictures to be used in multiple videos?

JackDevlin wrote on 3/6/2015, 6:40 AM

So I make several 'talking heads' videos in Movie Maker over the course of each month and would like to speed this process up.

At the beginning of the video I have a couple of pictures and some text (all stationary) on the screen with the video running underneath (still visible) as it were.

Therefore I have 3 picture blocks aligned with 2 title blocks, all fading in and out at the same time. I would like to have these 5 objects all saved together so I can simply drag them into the next project but still be able to change the text in the title.

I hope that all makes sense.

Hi,

First, are you sure you're in the right forum? This is a forum for MAGIX Movie Edit Pro, not Microsoft Movie Maker.

If that was just a typo, you'll need to tell us exactly what MEP version you're using. And, for me at least, I'd need a screenshot or two to understand what you are doing and what you want to achieve.

Hi

Assuming a typo - there are a couple of methods depending on what you want to do with the talking head part.

The simplest is to export the talking head movie using the Export, Video as Magix video option and set the format and framerate as you require.

You can the import this video into any project you wish to use it.  The only downside is you cannot edit the MXV video in the new project.

If you want to be able to make adjustments / edit the talking head part in the new movies where you include it then the process is different.

Start the new project and add at least one image as a place holder - this is to stop the project being overwitten by the next step.

In MEP media pane browse to the talking head project file -MVP - and drag this to the timeline.

When the dialog popus up click Add to project.

This will place the talking head onto a second timeline (tab).

Save the project.

Select the first timeline with the holding image/ movie and delete it by clicking the X on its tab (MEP2015, 2014 and 2013) or for earlier versions select the Film reel icon just above the timeline on the left, select the correct movie and then select File, Manage movies, Remove from project.

Save the project

You should now be back to one timeline which contains the talking head which you can edit if required.
Add in further video or images etc as you require.

Thanks all, it was a typo when I wrote movie maker, my apologies!

I've now figured it out but your help is very much appreciated.

Best,
