The video file is over 5 hours long. Could there be a memory problem?

Are you sure that MS 2023 can open .vf file, that is a vegas extention, I dont see that one in the specifications of the program.

@William-Porter

Hi,

See below:

This will only bring in the timeline without effects. If you have a lot of effects, then complete your project with Vegas MS.

I presume that you figured this part out so there may be some video clips in there that MS2023 doesn't like. You can try starting a new project and importing the video clips to see if there are any that do not work. MMS does not like variable frame rate clips.

Hi

MS 2023 will open/import .vf files, however it will import the basic edits only, no effects, transitions etc.

I would suggest you raise a Support ticket - see this Support article on how to do this.

Thanks everyone. I do have a lot of transitions and even some variable frame rate clips.

I'll just start it over in MS2023!

Hi

MS 2023 can have issues with some variable frame rate (VFR) video.

To avoid potential issues convert the VFR clips to constant framerate using a converter such as Handbrake or Avidemux

Note: if you have a lot of VFR video Handbrake can batch convert easily, Avidemux requires scripting.
