How to use the Backgrounds objects?

idd-2016 wrote on 1/18/2026, 1:34 AM

The project is 16:9 , I have few jpg's not alike so I want to use a 16:9 background from the templates, say gradient 3.

When clicked this pops

If I "Apply", the BG is mixed with the jpg

I couldn't find the way to set it to 16:9 as true BG to the XY jpg.

* By "Ignore" it comes as an object and this fine, but I'm asking about the "Apply" option?

Hi

From the second image, the only way to get this is by clicking the Ignore option and then dragging the background object on top of the image.

With the image, or video, selected dragging the background image from the Media pool, or selecting the Curled arrow to add the effect, followed by clicking the Apply option the background will only be visible when you resize the image object, or the image is pillar or letter boxed, see images below
