I can't seem to upgrade to the latest version

ArnieB wrote on 5/22/2018, 10:52 AM

I use Magix Video Pro X and for several months I have been running on build 15.0.5.211 (i.e., v9) Last week there seemed to be a problem with the software on my computer and I could no longer hear sound when I import MTS files. I found a workaround to the sound problem (I used a separate video converter to convert the MTS files to MP4. Then, when I import the MP4 files the sound was fine. But I concluded that maybe the software had got corrupted and so I chose to re-install the software.

Step 1 - I used the "Add/Remove" programs option to remove Magix v9.

Step 2 - I logged into my Magix account and downloaded the latest installation program and then I entered my current activation key.

I now have Magix v8 installed on my PC ???

The build number has reverted to build 15.0.0.56

I spoke to the sales/service team and a kind lady talked me through using the "update online" option built into the help menu. This advises me that there is a newer version and I choose to install it. At the end of the install, I am still on build 15.0.0.56

Please could someone help me reinstall the latest version

My support runs until 2nd Dec 2018.

I have the same problem. VPX says there's an update but it is always 15.0.0.56.

Hi,

This problem has occurred before. Download the Microsoft app from the link below and run it. Uninstall any VPX patches and also VPX 8 (or 15.0.0.56) using this program. The app allows you to uninstall the patch, whereas Windows uninstall does not. Then reinstall VPX and the patches. It seems that there is patch that does not get uninstalled when the program is uninstalled and this blocks the whole thing.

You should always keep the download files stored away somewhere, especially the additional content files to avoid having to download them again.

Hello :)

I thought I would be so happy when I bought brand new PC (specification below) and installed Magix VideoProX v 15.0.4.176. But...
Magix VideoProX v. 15.0.5.211 worked fine on my old PC, but it doesn't work on the new one (can't update), it seems that even v15.0.4.176 is broken.
My new PC uses Intel graphic module. It is selected in my VideoProX settings. Details below.

1. v15.0.4.176 doesn't work properly. Here what I do:

- I open the program
- I one new project
- I try to play video from the Import section list. But it doesn't play. I can only see STOP button on source screen panel. And it is not clickable.
- I try to play video from the timeline. But it doesn't play as well. I can only see STOP button on source screen panel. And it is not clickable, just as above.

2. Can't update to v15.0.5.211

Unfortunatelly, below solutions don't work:

Do you have any idea how to solve these issues? Thank you

@Leff

Hi

. . . . 15.0.5.211 worked fine on my old PC, but it doesn't work on the new one (can't update) . . . .

Check the following in order and try updating after each step:

  1. Any installed Firewall is allowing VPX to connect to the Internet.

  2. Internet Explorer is able to use all Internet protocols - see this comment here.

  3. Reset VPX - File, Settings, Reset . . . .

  4. Re-install following this procedure.

After each step restart the computer - Windows button, Power button, Restart
