I cannot import soundpools from other websites into Music Maker

AqauNotAqua wrote on 8/4/2020, 3:14 PM

I bought Music Maker Premium 2021 recently and it's honestly pretty sick. One issue I am having is that Music Maker doesn't seem to recognize my soundpools. Whenever I try an add them it shows something being added but it doesn't actually add any soundpools. I have re-scanned the soundpool foler (My custom one), moved my soundpools into C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools and then re-scanned, same issue. I am extremely frustrated by this. My version is the latest version of Music Maker currently.

@AqauNotAqua

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . Music Maker doesn't seem to recognize my soundpools . . . add them it shows something being added . . . re-scanned the soundpool foler (My custom one), moved my soundpools into C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools and then re-scanned, same issue . . .

Are the Soundpools from the Magix Store or Producer Planet?

@johnebaker No, the soundpools were downloaded from https://cymatics.fm/pages/free-download-vault (Well not just Cymatics) I am basically having issues importing third party soundpools into Music Maker. This never occurred in the free version by the way, only started to happen when I upgraded to premium.

@AqauNotAqua

Hi

Third party soundpools may not appear in the Soundloops tab because they are missing a support file needed that defines the pitches that are used in the loops and/or are not organised the same as the Magix Soundpools.

They can be added to the timeline using the File Manager tab

@johnebaker Is there a way I can create this file, if so then how do I?

Hi

. . . . Is there a way I can create this file, if so then how do I? . . . .

There is more to it then just creating the file.

I would suggest you compare what you get in the 3rd party 'Soundpools' against a Magix soundpool structure and naming convention and determine whether it is worth the effort to do so.

The file with the necessary information required is quite small, look in one of the BPM.inf files in the root of a Magix Soundpool.

Abbey, My 2 cents, there was something I was reading that made me think, and then I realized- I might be wrong but it fixed my problem. I created a file where there were no master folders, ie greatest collection/etc. Apparently the search script is probably looking for folders and files that only go so deep.in the path to search. This worked for me, Heres an example of my folder/file structure from my D drive where I keep my pools:

D:\Temp\ArchivePools\Magix\MagixPools_NoMasterFolders\60's Soul Vol\Bass\2Way_Bass1.wav

D:\Temp\ArchivePools\Magix\MagixPools_NoMasterFolders\60's Soul Vol\Bass\2Way_Bass2.wav

Now I just went to 4 tier ( MagixPools_NoMasterFolders) after I selected 'AddNewSoundpool' -

So I am thinking paths have to have a certain length within the search parameters- I could be wrong here but I was having the same issue as someone else- it looked like it was doing something but nothing was added- Now I have all my pools installed(aprox 50) I hope this helps someone like me who was ready to buy another software that rhymes with Flacid - abbey
