I have recorded Acoustic guitar fine but when i try to record vocals there is an uneven delay on the playback after recording the vocals.. Can anyone advise why this might be..

Hall all who can help,

Below is the steps advised on what is happenening and when.. Any help would be appreciated.

1) Vocals are not syncing even being randomly cut off when recorded. This does not happen when i record acoustic guitar through the same mic..

2) The lag is sometimes a mili second out then quite a bit out.

3) I am using a Windows Vista 32bit operating system with 2GB Ram

4) Using Magix Music maker SE..

Novice i could well be..

Latency delays are a major problem when trying to sync vocals to audio in a ' live' situation ie when the computer is playing back the audio track previously recorded as you try to record vocals on another track.

A lot depends on how your mic is connected to the computer and your soundcard.

Also any other programs running - including Antivirus/Spamware can affect the latency of your system and the variability you have mentioned may be due to this.
