I am getting an "error in module "quartz.dll" (load address 0x6ee70000) to address 0x6ef03bf1 Excepion 0xc0000005 "Access_Violation". I downloaded the current patch and still get the error. Is there a fix for this? The software is Movie Edit Pro MX within Windows 8.1. Using HP2000 with AMD Vision processor

Hi

I suspect it is DirectX that is causing the problem - the quartz.dll  is for  MPEG playback and is part of DirectX extras.

Try changing the video playback settings (highlighted in red) as shown in the image below - you may need to try the different options to fix the problem .

If you record from an analog signal it may be necessary to change the setting shown highlighted in yellow.

It didn't work. I tried several different settings and none worked. I think it's the processor. I have several video software packages and only 1 works with this laptop. The others crash.
