I'm dying here

edh133 wrote on 9/26/2011, 11:03 PM

On 06/13/2011 I prurchased Music Maker 17. Then on 09/13/2011 I purchased Music Maker 17 Premium along with Sound Pools 17. A few days after I received and installed the software I stopped at this site and discovered there is a brand new version of both of these titles. Shoot your killing me! If I would have known I would have waited a few days. Instead I have an old version that can't be updated to the MX version without paying again. What's a music lover to do? I blew money on an old version...

@ Kourse

It is not forum policy to encourage users to download from illegal sources.  Your comment has been reported to the editing desk

I wouldn't download the torrent anyway. I did create a ticket though and in reply I was provided the following information. Now why they just send the link with that email I don't know but at least they understood where I was coming from. But then again, I still wasn't provided the link yet. Time will  tell...

Thank you for your message.

Any purchases of software that are made within 4 weeks of an upgrade will be upgraded free of charge.

We will send you out a download version of Music Maker MX Premium.

Please note that the Soundpools are not upgradable. They are a specfic collection of sounds, each one is different. Your soundpool 17 DVD can be used with the MX software with no problems.

John,

for the record, torrents are not illegal. the connection to any file is not illegal. That is how come torrent sites can still exist and opperate outside the U.S. What u refer to is the actual act of "sharing" and again, out side the U.S. anyway...even if it is wrong, no one can enforce it.

Thnx for playing

@ Kourse

Please read section 3 of the EULA here

http://www.magix.com/gb/eula/consumer/

I agree with you when you say torrents are not illegal, however, nowhere in my post did I say torrents themselves were illegal.

By putting up a copy of software in contradiction to the above EULA , the original torrent creator has acted 'illegally', then the source is illegal, and presumably any one using that source to obtain the software without fair payment to the copyright owner or licensee acts illegally.

John.

@jon

Did that make u feeel better? Thank you but i do not need u to confirm what we all know. I know what u said. I attacked at what you implied. And besides, I again state, having any law that can not be poltically, ( not technically, at least in North America) enforced, is not  law. The reality is, no matter where any rule is written, one can not   tell people what they can and can not do if one physically  does  not control any off the actions and /or the consequences of said law .

I can debate this all day, but really all I need to say is.....   YOU dont scare me jon. Know why? I did nothing wrong. The only reason u wrote your first reply here was to threaten me. The second time was an attemp to make me  look dumb. Dude,  i smoke pot to make me dumb. Now get out of my sandbox.

Hope this answers your question, Edh133
