I want to edit a track as it plays and save it but can't figure out how....

I would like to edit and mix tracks as they play (as opposed to literally editing a track 1/16th note by 1/16th note.) I am new at this but I'm using Magix Music Maker the downloadeable version with Windows 7. Any advice will be greatly appreciated and if I can't do this with this software, can somebody recommend a different software?

I don't know what you're doing to every 1/16th note, but it sounds like you need to look into the Live Performer and Live Performer recording features of this software. Read the manual and the Help files.
