importing a VOB video file

I am trying to use Movie Edit Pro 2021. When I try to import a VOB video file, I get an error message "MPEG-2-Codec is not available" ; then a further message states "Check that the drive is not full or write-protected". Well, the drive is not full nor write-protected.

I have the trial version and so far I have not been able to use it. I am using Windows 10 on a 2010 laptop computer with upgraded SSD storage.

Can anyone explain the problem that I have with importing? I tried looking up previous questions but could not find one that is relevant.

Hi Norman.

I'm pretty sure there are certain codecs and other things that may not work in the trial version. The codec needed may not be a part of the trial. I don't know which bits won't as I never used the trial version or use VOB imports but it sounds as if it would be a part of one of the additional codecs that are normally paid for as an extra.

Also exports are limited to 3 mins in the trial version so I suspect that file codec is one of the missing ones.
