I have just installed Movie Edit Pro MX . . . . What version of Windows are you using, and what is your computer specification? John EB neversaydie2008 wrote on 4/21/2015, 9:34 AM Hi John, Thanks for your speedy response. Following a crime last week I will be presenting CCTV footage to the local police. Need, however, to produce a condensed version of events as a preview. I thought that MEP would come in handy to do the job. But, what a hassle getting it off the ground (haven't used my copy for a few years)!!! The CCTV footage is in AVI format. The MEP version I have (11.0.6.) won't open this type of file. I then had to search for a convertor. Finally found one that did the job (avi > mpg). Then MEP got the hump claiming that I had to get an activation code. Wasted more time trying to do this online with Magix. Gave up. Then tried phoning a number. Lucky me- a real person finally helped get me the code. So am now working with mpegs. I'm using Windows XP SP3 Computer spec: DELL LATITUDE D630 Intel Core Duo CPU T7700 @ 2.4GHz 4mbRAm johnebaker wrote on 4/22/2015, 5:23 PM Hi The AVI video may be in a proprietary format whcih cannot be imported in to MEP. The conversion process may also have a negative effect upon the evidential material - see this article for further information on video evidence. If in doubt work wih your local police on their requirements for video evidence. HTH John EB 1
