When I load my videos on my computer, then try to import them into my timeline its saying I need to activate the MPEG-4 but it, so then I click activate on-line but then it tells me that it can be read....also, the program will not play the video in MOV format so i'll convert it to MPEG and it'll play the audio but no image...

@joseph-franklin, welcome to the Magix forums.

First, can you tell us exactly which version of MEP Premium you have (check under Help>About Movie Edit Pro)?

The MPEG-4 codec ativation is a one-time event for your computer but it does need an on-line connection to the Magix server to be able to do this. So, is your computer on-line when you click on the activate button? If it is on-line then there may have been a glitch on the server so you should try again to complete the activation.

Videos in .mov format WILL play if you have Quicktime for Windows installed. Although there have been concerns in the past about the security implications of this, now "legacy", software I can honestly say I have had it installe don various machines for several years wihtout problem. Just make sure you download the program ONLY from the official Apple download page here.

Which software are you using to convert your .mov files to .mpg? I think if all you obtain is a file with audio but no video, I would seriously question the "quality" of the conversion software. OTOH, that software may also need Quicktime to be installed for it to work properly.

HTH

I am using MEP 2018 premium. And yeah I'm online when it ask me to "activate the MPEG-4 codec" but nothing happens....idk if this matters but I uninstalled MEP 2014 once I got MEP Premium. And when I convert my MOV. To mpeg they play in the computer just not in the program(timeline, or preview window)

I have done all the suggested solutions and the program still isnt working. I uninstalled it shut down my computer. Updated it and tries to reinstall the program. Now its giving me a "error code -24" when trying to reactivate the program
