In the burning DVD's , how can I change "CUSTOM" in the Encoder settings to "Widescreen 16:9 ?

In the Burning tab I went to DVD Burning and hit encoder settings. Under Preset I selected Standard DVD Wide Screen which knocked back my bit-rate settings, but didn't make any difference when I played the DVD pre-burn folder generated by Magix that I saved to a thumb drive and then played on a BD player. The only thing I didn't do was actuallly burn the production to a disc. Would this make any difference? I'm willing to sacrifice a disc, but thought I would check to see if anyone knows about some obscure setting somewhere else that will enable me to make the conversion from 4:3 into widescreen....

Are you sure the disc image in the folder you tried is the one that was created after you changed the encoder settings and not one you previously created in 4x3 for the same project? Or: when you started the 16x9 mixdown and got the prompt "Encode all" you used the option "Use All" by mistake? Check the file properties box in windows for the .VOB files in the Video TS folder and see if the "time created" relates to when you did the 16X9 encode.

No!!! I still cannot get the finished "Widescreen" video. I have tried "VIDEO EASY and MOVIE EDIT PRO 14".

This is extremely frustrating. You keep sending me promo's to buy new programs but.... since I cannot get the results I want with these two programs, theres no way that I will spend more money on your other programs.

Please do not shout (=!!!). This is a user forum not monitored by Magix and we are all just users like yourself, trying to help out.

The simplest thing may be to go to "File > Settings > Reset program settings to default..." then open the project and go do the Burn DVD screen and select "Encoder Settings > Standard DVD Widescreen >OK (without altering any of the settings or entering the advanced encoder settings windows) then burn with or without a disc inserted.

This procedure will ensure that no settings may have been inadvertantly altered.
