In Timeline mode the clips no longer have pictures on them

siegbrunn wrote on 3/5/2022, 11:51 AM

I feel like a complete idiot, I should know the answer to this, it's not the first time it's happened. I'm using the Timeline to compare various clips of the same performance so I can choose the best one. I've done this for years
Until I started this particular one everything was as usual. Then I looked at the the board and whoops. . . "no pics". The audios were all there but not the "video" part, it's blank. I used the Windows Snip tool to show you, because I'm not sure I know the right words. The monitor BTW shows the video normally. It's probably a very simple setting that I've missed. If you guys can tell me what it is, I'm gonna print it out and glue it on the wall. This isn't the first time.
Thanks - Karen

Hi Karen.

Normally I would say the track height is not tall enough but that does not appear to be the case in this instance.

What are your program settings for playback?

Ray.

Fooey, fooey, fooey! I had closed MEP for the nite (not the PC) and I just started MEP new and all the video pics are back 😠

That's really frustrating. I'm not keen to restart the computer BTW because I usually get the BSOD 6 or 7 times when I start it new. At least I know I have success just with restarting Magix even tho it shouldn't do that.
@CubeAce

Thanks for your reply anyway.

And here I am 25 minutes later after starting work with a new clip, video pics gone again. Coincidentally this happened at about the same time as I used the "dash button" lower right to expand the single clip to the work board size. Concerning your question about playback settings, I made a jpg.

@siegbrunn Hi, you need to follow this link, share as much info about the media your using & put more/full information about the computer specifications in your Signature, CPU (Processor), GPU (graphics card), RAM (memory), these can be found if you right click on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop - Taskmanager.

Hi Karen,

That was not the last patch of that version (MEP 2021) of that program which may have helped stop your crashes.

Please check your update feature to see if another patch is available to you. Also try lowering the amount of audio buffers to 4 from 6.

Hi

. . . .  I'm not keen to restart the computer BTW because I usually get the BSOD 6 or 7 times when I start it new. . . . .

I would advise you to get the computer looked at, multiple BSOD are indicative of possible drive failure , which may also account for issues you are having.

You also need to update your signature it is showing tou are running an older version of MEP.
