Initial download

I just purchased the movie edit pro and have a Samsung notebook pro 9. After the first 10 second download it takes me to the actual program download and it is pausing itself and when clicking continue, it defaults back to pause. The first time it made it to 15% then was having this issue. I updated my computer, restarted it, and attempted the download again and now it wont go past 0%. My computer is said to be able to support this software. What am I doing wrong?

@Meevis

Hi and Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Windows defender and some antivirus programs are known to give false positives to some of the download files within the program. It is best to turn both Defender and any anti-virus program off during download and then add the program folders to the 'ignore scanning folders' list after the download and installation is complete.

@Meevis

Having looked at the specs of your machine I see it comes pre-loaded with a trial version of McAfee Live Safe. Assuming it is still "operational" I would do exactly as @CubeAce (Ray) says and ensure that it is not blocking the MEP installer from running successfully.

Speaking personally, I would then not hesitate at all to remove ALL traces of McAfee Live Safe! (The process of full removal is, itself, no easy task; you need to download and run the dedicated uninstaller direct from McAfee.) In my opinion there are far better alternative AV and Firewall options than either McAfee or Windows Defender or ...

I got the download to go thru successfully. It appears I was trying to do the download in a high volume time for my WiFi provider while also running my smart tv, which drastically changed download speeds when off vs on. Thank you guys for your quick replies.
