Installing Downloaded content (eg Menu Templates) in upgraded version

I've upgraded my Movie Edit Pro 2016 to the Plus version. I already have all the downloaded content files. How do I get my Plus version to recognize them? I sort of assumed the installation would find them, but that doesn't appear to be so. I tried just executing one of the exe files from the Windows File Explorer, and it seemed to run correctly, but the Menu Templates where still not available. Is there a trick, or do I have to download and install them from within the Plus version using the Help->Install extra content... menu item?

I don't think it matters but these are my system specs

Hi,

You say that you downloaded the content files. Then you ask if you have to download and install them from within the Plus version. How did you get the content files if you didn't get them by going through the program?

I suggest that you uninstall the basic version and install the Plus version. I think that there are difference built-in, like certain tools, not just the content.

browj2: Thanks for taking time to respond. Perhaps I was not as clear as I'd hoped. I downloaded and installed the content files in my original [Base] version--only a few months ago. I have just installed the Plus version. The additional (free) content did not show up in my Plus version when I installed it, which runs perfectly well other than the fact I don't have access to all of the DVD menu templates (nor downloaded effects, etc). I did download and install one package (DVDMenu1) from within Plus. More of the templates appeared, so that worked fine. I then attempted to install the DVDMenu2 package from within Plus, but could find no way to do that: when I choose the "Install extra content" Help menu item, it goes straight to the download website. I really don't want to waste my bandwidth downloading all that material again. The installer function has a specific statement about leaving the installers in the "Downloads" folder (I'll specify the full path if you want, but...) so that they can be saved or burned to disc (Data DVD) for re-installation if required. I first tried simply executing the DVDMenu2 installer EXE and that started and did some stuff and exited. When I restarted Plus, the Menu2 templates were still not there. I could not find any other likely option in the menus. Given that the downloader specifically states that you can archive them, I would expect there is a way to re-install them should something make that necessary (corrupted MEP2016 for instance, or hard disk failure).

You may be onto something that I HADN'T considered: perhaps the additional content for Plus is different than for Base, but I compared the installer filename, date and size for the one I did download from Plus and it was the same for both "versions"--perhaps that was sheer coincidence?

I'm terribly sorry, I mis-spoke. I'd been thinking about this and went back to check again; the filenames were NOT the same. The latest download DID have "Plus" in the name. I totally missed that yesterday. Double-clicking on the installer file name presented a "repair" option and " remove" option. I selected remove, and as expected, the templates were not there when I started MEP Plus. I closed the program, re-launced the installer, got the License Agreement dialog which I accepted and they re-installed. So everything DOES work the way I expected.....WHEN you have the right files. I am terribly embarassed by the entire affair. I did [re-]learn something else too: I should never reply to a post early in the morning relying only on my memory of what I had done the day before.

Thanks for actually pointing me to the correct solution.
