Is infusion engine worth buying movie edit pro 2020?

Hello!

I currently have movie edit pro 2018 plus. I had movie studio 13 platinum before but my 1080p video clips made the software useless because of the lags. But no lags in movie edit pro if I disable effects in preview.

Now I have a gopro hero7 white. The resolution is a bit bigger than 1080p. Video clips make the software lags sometimes but it's nothing compare to the bad lags in movie studio 13.

I would like to know if the new infusion engine of movie edit pro 2020 really gives better playback performances compared to the 2018 version. It would be nice if I could get no lags with effects activated in preview.

My computer is very on the low end. It's a miracle that I can edit videos with it! It's an asus t101ha.

Hi Frankie.

Sorry to say this but.

When playing back video in MEP it's the hardware that is the limiting factor as to how free from stutters along with how much processing is needed within the project. As you have observed, deactivating effects helps because the hardware doesn't have to work as hard.

Looking at the specs for the current version of MEP and your Asus T101HA, the Asus does not meet the minimum operating requirements for that version of MEP. MEPs requirements being, Graphics card: Onboard, min. resolution 1280 x 1024, 512 MB VRAM and DirectX 11 support (recommended: Intel Graphics HD 520).

Also the specs for your Asus's processor is not fast enough at 1.44 to 1.92GHz. with MEP recommending 2.8GHz or higher.

If anything it's possible this software would put more of a strain on your system than your current program.
