As Video Pro X now comes with a new 'Infusion Engine'. does that make it effectively a new program or an update?
I ask because I'm not sure. I know those of you that have already downloaded it possibly paid to upgrade. Am I correct?
The other reason for asking is that at some point it will possibly also be ported over to Movie Edit Pro and this raises concerns for me because of the new system requirements that to my mind are not clear on the Video Pro X webpage.
Please look at the following image taken from the current Magix Video Pro X specification page.
My concerns began when looking at the complaints on this forum and checked where possible, peoples signatures to see the specs of their machines. Those that I could check, complaining that VP-X crashes all had graphics cards with 2GB of memory or less. Only John Baker who has a 6GB card did not report that as happening on his machine.
On checking the sites I could find information on, there is no current production of graphics cards that have 2GB of Vram or less. Most of what you can find on sale is 'New old stock'.
Then there is the question of the notices of the words 'Sound card Onboard'. Is this saying they have stopped testing for additional sound cards? The other is 'Installed up-to-date drivers is required'. So what is termed 'Up to date'? When was the last driver released for some of the older cards?
Does I wonder, Magix have a machine old enough with older CPU and graphics card to try out the new engine on to back up their minimum requirements and if so why the new graphics card recommendations?
These are just thoughts as to why maybe so many people are reporting problems. They may be completely unfounded but I still wonder at the spec changes mentioned on that page and why they are there.
