Jamm rejects download to my DropBox MMJ download file

Bruce-Berquist wrote on 2/4/2021, 9:16 PM

I have been having a repeated issue with saving a song that I have completed. When I send the save I get a message back saying that the song could not be saved, choose another download folder.

But here are a couple problems to that.

1 - I find nowhere on my account where I can change my download folder selection.

2 - If the reason is in storage data limits, I cleared out the MMJ Downloads folder, moving my songs to another folder. I thought that that fixed it when it freely downloaded a track I was saving, but when I came to the next track to save it denied me the download again.

3 - I Deleted the app from my computer then installed it again, and rebooted my computer, to no avail. In fact, in the process, I lost one of my most used and important loop files and MMJ said said that I had to purchase it to get it back.

What could possibly be the problem?

How do I fix it or get it fixed.

Frustrated,

Bruce

Hi

. . . . When I send the save I get a message back saying that the song could not be saved, choose another download folder. . . . .

By default the save location is in the Music Maker Jam Recordings folder inside the default Music folder. Your Antivirus Folder Protection / Ransomware feature may be blocking MMMJAM from saving there.

Assuming you mean once the music has been recorded to mp3 select the option indicated below to specify the folder location where you want the mp3 to be saved.

Thank you John. I know that I have been saving songs correctly. I just started getting notifications that the downloads were declined and I had to select another storage file. There is no setting selection choice given on MMMJAM when I get to the name and save button.

However I did fix the problem by re-installing MMMJAM straight into my DropBox where the folder is located.

No troubles since.

Once again, Thank you!

John. Could you answer one more question that is somewhat related. My computer had a major crash back around January 10 or 11 and I lost a whole lot of data of all kinds. Some of that data was some of my MMMJAM Projects that I really valued a lot. I search every nook and cranny of my computer and could not find them. I even did a "Rewind" on my DropBox but to no avail.

Does MMMJAM have any records of those Project files of which I can recover them from?

Hi

MMMJAM does hold a list of saved projects and exports on the Startup page - scroll to the right and you should see them.

Depending on the cause of the crash the projects may not be recoverable, particularly if it was the hard drive that corrupted/failed in any way.

Unfortunately they are not there. Fortunately I have performed my own audio track versions of them and have hard copies of those recordings. I just like being able to go back to my projects on MMMJAM to do some more creative work with them. MMMJAM is a great work pad for inspiring creative ideas.
