Left clicking +/- in Movie Edit Pro acts as if I'm right-clicking it!

I know the difference between left & right clicking, and have used Movie Edit Pro (and other Magix software) for MANY years!

But I find that with the new 2022 version of "MEP" that sometimes when you LEFT-click the + or - buttons in the lower-right corner of the timeline to zoom the software acts as if I RIGHT-clicked it instead and brings up the context-sensitive menu rather than just zooming the timeline!

This bug is driving me crazy as I'm always clicking on the +/- icons while working on the timeline!

I'm afraid I have never suffered this behaviour. I cannot verify your problem.

Hi Mike,

I tested this on VPX13 as they are about the same and had no problems.

Do you have any other problems with left clicking on things, like clicking on one thread in a forum and a different one shows up? This has started happening to me on my laptop. It could be because it's starting to fall apart, or a new Windows feature.

As a workaround for now, try using Ctrl+mouse wheel for zoom in/out on the timeline. I find it much faster and I almost never use the =/- buttons anymore.

I do feel sorry for you right-handers, having to drop the mouse each time you want to key the arrow keys or hit DEL.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

It's not a mouse issue as I've tried other devices including laptop touch pad, and even a foot pedal I use that only has the left-click function.

As well this issue doesn't happen in other programs INCLUDING an older version of Movie Edit Pro Premium (16.0.1.22)...ONLY IN Movie Edit Pro 2022 Plus (21.0.1.87)! Even happens after a reboot.

I can replicate this by holding the left mouse button down too long, with a short left click the controls behave as normal.

This is most likely a design behaviour for those users who are using touch screens and have no way of creating a right click tap.

Any way within Magix MEP2022+ to lengthen this delay, as it's just a fraction of a second between generating a left-click vs a right-click using the left mouse button. No other program I use has this troublesome "feature", including Windows itself!
