I couldn't get my USB turntable to work with either Sound Forge, or Audacity, or the SW that came with turntable.

I tried on two different PCs. The reason was I had privacy settings on for my microphone input. The errors just said unexpected response from device.

@Jim2 Yes, Windows disables microphones by default since a lot of people got their webcams hacked in the past. This often causes such problems. Good to know you found a solution.
