I have been using Sound Forge since I was in college, on version 4.5.
For quite a while I was on version 10, which was doing everything I want and need it to do. However, with the purchase of an updated version of Vegas, my bundle came with Sound Forge 17, and decided to take the opportunity to "upgrade"
Upgrading from Sound Forge 10 to 17 is much like upgrading from Windows XP to Vista. I do not understand what idiot made the awful decisions involved in this product, but you have taken a rock solid standard staple of a product, and completely ruined it! That takes a special kind of stupid!
When I open a 16bit 44.1kHz audio file, and edit that file, and save that file, I expect it to save that file. WHAT I DON'T EXPECT IS FOR IT TO CONVERT THE FILE TO A DIFFERENT BITDEPTH AND/OR SAMPLING RATE JUST BECAUSE THAT HAPPENED TO BE WHAT I SAVED TO THE PREVIOUS TIME!!!!!!
NO SANE LOGICAL RATIONAL HUMAN BEING WANTS THAT!!!!!
WHOEVER DECIDED THAT MAKES SENSE, IS THE BIGGEST MORON IN THE HISTORY OF COMPUTER PROGRAMMING!!!!!!
This insanity completely ruins my workflow. With the simple click of a save button, you destroy my work and my project, forcing me to have to redo everything I do from that point on until I discover the maddening change of sample rate and bitdepth.
I will not allow this awful decision to ruin any more of my work, I have uninstalled the awful product, switched back to Sound Forge 10, and I sure as hell will NEVER purchase another Magix product so long as I live, as you've clearly demonstrated to me the level of competence I am dealing with here!
Good day!
