Lossless AVI Codecs-MagicYUV

For all you lossless AVIheads out there, I have been using Lagarith for some time for my VHS transfers and other lossless work in MEP. Recently I was using VDub to do some filtering, and exporting that in LAGS to MEP as an AVI. I noticed a bit of frame-jumping/splitting and general pork-chop performance, so I tried HUFF; same result. I then remembered I did a project last year where I had all sorts of trouble with a short LAGS AVI that I had created for the end of a slide show (created in MEP and then brought back into the project).

In desperation, I tried MagicYUV, and it was as smooth as silk. So I bought it (US$15).

If you're having issues with AVIs exported from VDub or MEP, try MagicYUV. There is a trial.

I know this is old but you're the first person I've seen who has also had the frame-jumping / splitting issues with LAGS and HUFF encoded AVI files, too. It works fine in earlier versions of MEP (MX was the last one I used regularly) but not so much with the 2021 (and 2022) versions of MEP. I downloaded the earlier / free version of MagicYUV and it works well - thanks for the recommendation, but I wish we could ID the issue in MEP that makes LAGS / HUFF AVIs go wonky.

@AAProds I have MagicYUV, i use it in Vegas no prob, but in MEP Premium, whichever option i choose I can't export with Alpha?

MEP does not support exporting video with an Alpha channel even if the codec supports it and the option is available eg Lagarith RGBA.

Looks like LAGS and HUFF are no longer jerky with the MEP 2022 130 update (I didn't get around to submitting a bug report). Good stuff. Thanks Magix.
