Magix canceled my subscription after accepting my payment.

Title summarizes the issue. Magix has canceled my subscription for SoundForge Pro after accepting my payment. This has two serious problems:

  1. I can't change or renew my subscription because Magix website insists that my serial number is used by the canceled subscription.
  2. It's against the law in both USA and Germany. You cannot cancel a paid service after taking payment for that service unless a full refund is issued. My payment was accepted 4 June 2026.

Any advice on how to fix this?

Your subscription has beed paid until 4th of June. After that last period it the autorenewal stopped because BorisFX is now the owner of these products. We cannot sell it anymore.

You should have get information via email from the new owner also about information that your subscription will run there now.

We'll send your case to BorisFX to assist you.

Not quite.

Furthermore, to be as clear as I can be:

  • You didn't notify me of this buyout or any other change. I had no idea that it was happening until this very thread. Did you bother to notify anyone at all, or did you assume that your customers live on your forums?
  • I've never received an email from BorisFX. In fact I literally don't know who they are.
  • There is nothing on your account management or support pages that mentions this change in ownership, nor needing to change subscription parameters, nor any process of any kind for rectifying this situation. It's a very poor business model to make laziness on your part into an emergency on mine.

@Grummulthrus There was a large e-mail campaign that all those products switched over to Boris FX. I got a lot of mails from Magix and Boris FX about this. Of course, if you disabled all newsletters, you might not have received anything.

If newsletters are the only way to know that a company has been bought out and my software is about to stop working, that's a failure on the part of two companies.

@Grummulthrus I recommend you go to borisfx.com and install the free trial version of Sound Forge 2026. Then, at least, you can use the software for two weeks. I'm pretty sure, that Boris FX support will solve your problem over the next couple of days.
