Hello all,

iv already had issues with magix edit pro 2014 but thanx to another user i got them fixed with no hassle but now im having more of a major issue with the prgrram crashing, let me explain eg

i have a video that i have cut into 3 parts, the first part i have running a a slight faster speed, second part slowed to half speed and last part same as the first, then i group them together cop and paste in the time line where i want them... then FREEZE, and crash... everytime?? in the last hour i repeated this scene 5 times with the same outcome, an im one who saves there projects say every half hour an as im notting getting to save before the crash its a bit of a pain.

im also have another issue...i record alot of gameplay using a capture card and it records in AVCHD (M2ts) and i cant just drop that file into magix has video is fine but the sound is out of place but alsosounds like chipmunks, all high... terrible, if i expor 9on forxio0t the file before hand its fine but as id prefer just to drag an drop to usb from my laptop then to over to my projects folder my desktop pc... is there any way to fix this??

cheers.

Hi,

Ok, you are a game player, so I would think that your system specs are pretty good, but you have not posted them so we don't really know what they are.  You also say that you have a video that you have "cut" into 3 parts.  How did you cut them, or did you actually record them in 3 parts as 3 seperate files?  If you cut them in MEP, you have not saved yourself much in the way or RAM because when you cut in MEP, it does not actually break the file up into smaller segments, it simply access the same file and places markers if you will on that file to only show the segments that you have not cut.  The original file is still there, you just don't see the elements that you have cut.  Same resource demands, different viewing experience.  You also make no mention of the size of the original file. Is it 5GB, 10GB or 100GB?

You know, I could go on and on and on specualating what you may or may not have done or how you did it, but let's start with the basics.  What are your system specs (RAM, CPU, OS and Version, if you want throw in your hard drive specs such as data transfer rate, buffer/cache size, etc.) that would be good.  There are people on this site and I include myself as one of them who can give you a good answer provided you give enough information.

Also, have you checked for patches or updates to MEP 2014?

You also have not said anything about what other apps are running when this happens.  Applications typically crash for one of three reasons.  First and foremost is that you have run out of some system resource for the application to continue running.  Second, the application or your OS or hardware/firmware cannot handle or process the request.  Third, there is a bug in the application or OS.  That pretty much covers it.

Hi

. . . i have a video that i have cut into 3 parts, the first part i have running a a slight faster speed, second part slowed to half speed and last part same as the first, then i group them together cop and paste in the time line where i want them. . . .

Why are you copy and pasting the group on the timeline?

Going on what you have said, the video is already there so you only need to drag the grouped video to the place you require.

Copy and pasting will duplicate the grouped video.  If this is a large segment then your computer may be running out of resources giving the inevitable crash.

. . . . .i record alot of gameplay using a capture card and it records in AVCHD (M2ts) and i cant just drop that file into magix has video is fine but the sound is out of place but alsosounds like chipmunks, . . . .

Which capture software are you using?  Check the audio samplerateyou have set - it should 48000 Hz (48kHz)  - I would suspect you have a much lower setting - probably 22050 Hz (22.05 kHz).
