Hi I am tearing my hair out, just about ready to uninstall as I have been trying to get this working all day...

I have just purchased Magix Movie Edit Pro 2015. No problems wit the install all went smoothly. However when I drag a video file (mp4) filmed with my gopro onto the timeline if I try watch it back it just stalls, lags and freezes so bad that I cant edit anything.... Im no tech expert and was told this was a easy user friendly program so I bought it :( Sofar it has been everything but userfriendly....

The lagging and freezing is happening in the left hand window where you can play and preview your work. If I export it and produce a new mp4 it plays perfectly so its not an exporting problem just a previewing problem.

My PC runs like a dream and this is the only problem I have period. Its a relativly new PC only a few months old.

pc specs:

Windows 8.1

AMD A6-6400 APU with radion hd graphics  3.9ghz

16 gb ram

64bit op sys

Nvidia geforce GT 705

I used to use Pinnacle HD studio and it dod not have this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi

The MEP 2015 minimum specification for working with HD video, requires a 4 core processor.

The AMD A6-6400 is dual core and is underpowered for achieving smooth preview playback resulting in 'stalls, lags and freezes' .

You can try turning on Proxy file creation in the programs settings and reducing the preview window resolution - right click the lightning symbol bottom right of the preview window for the option -  to see if you get any improvement.
