Making a series of clips from a single video

I am trying to use Magix to take a single family video of about an hour or so in length to create a series of clips that are highlights. So the video - which is in avi format has different family events and I want to make a clip of each one of those to create a "highlight reel". I am stuck and need some guidance. I am working off Windows 10 laptop and have Movie Edit Pro Premium loaded. Thank you.

Hi Bill,

Photos are almost treated the same. One thing that is different is that you can extend the duration to what ever you want. A video can't be longer that it is, but a photo length can be.

When you export, whatever is on the timeline is exported, unless you export only a range.

You say that "I am not able to export the entire project (the jpg/title slide + imported mpg movie objects) into a new mpg file." Without seeing what you are doing, I have no idea why your export does not export everything.

I think that you should watch my 2 tutorials on Basic Editing to better understand what you are doing.
